This film is about a couple trying to arrange their wedding, and ultimately how they overcome set backs and marital problems; overall, we learn we shouldn't expect the best from anyone without hard work and genuine effort. The film won many critical acclaims and has become one of the biggest hits in Indian Cinema history. The film has won various awards including the National Award for "Best Hindi Film" among many. The story revolves around the lives of Anand (Akshaye Khanna), who is a happy-go-lucky guy who is just looking for some fun and his love interest Radhika (Sameera Reddy) whom he falls in love with at first sight; however, Radhika's uncle (Nagesh Kukunoor) opposes their marriage, as he wants his daughter to marry an NRI like him. What ensues is a battle of wits between the two families with best friends Rohan (Sharman Joshi) and Gaurav (Sanjay Dutt) joining in on this game. The film also stars former Miss India Priyanka Chopra in a small role. In the beginning of the film, Anand and Radhika were to be married in the temple but their engagement was called off by her elders because she was not given ample time to settle down and plan for her life with Anand. Her uncle asks Anand to forget all about his love and get married to someone else. After this incident, an NRI guy named Mr. James comes into picture and requests for a dance competition with them where he will win if he could dance better than them both. Both Anand and Radhika accepted his offer thinking that it will be good for them both but when they learn that Mr. James has ulterior motives for this competition, they turned back. The competitions begins. Anand cannot dance well but he did not care to dance well. His motive was to save Radhika's reputation which he succeeded in doing. On the other hand, Radhika couldn't dance or save her reputation either. She was cruel to her uncle even when his condition worsened condition because of shock that made him fall asleep during the competitions. Before she could finish dancing with Anand, she was stopped by James who touches her inappropriately while dancing. Anand slapped Mr. James, which caused him to fall down the stage. He still continued his dancing but could not go up even when he was helped by others including Rohan and Gaurav. He fell down at the end of the film, defeated in both dances and romance. The movie ends with Anand & Radhika coming back together with James's help because James proposed them to have a white wedding in British terms so that her uncle could also take part in their lives. The rest of the credits are similar to how it began, with Anand & Radhika dancing happily at their home since it is their traditional wedding day in India after all. cfa1e77820
